4 days off-It was a great weekend!

It seems like the more time off we have with Eddie, the more he accomplishes new things. I don't know if this is actually true, but I made that observation a while ago and then G made it known to me, today that he also made that observation.

This weekend was nice. G got to spend a lot of time with Eddie. As a matter of fact, G has been putting Eddie to sleep. It's really great for all of us. I think Eddie sleeps more peaceful this way. He seems to go crazy when he knows it's me holding him.

Tonight, G moved Eddie's crib to our bedroom. We're going to try letting him sleep there and bring him to our bed when he needs to nurse. Wish us lots of luck :)

This weekend, was a lot of fun. To list a few things, Dad and I had Thursday and Friday off. So, Dad and Eddie got to interact a lot. Thursday morning, I had to cook-Dad was watching Eddie. I heard them laughing in the next room.

That night, Grandma and Grandpa came over for Thanksgiving. Grandpa sure did make Eddie laugh a lot, by spinning a plate on the table. Eddie has wonderful grandparents. As corny and cliche as it sounds, I am thankful for them being in his life.

My siblings had the day off, so they were able to make it to our little get together too :) I was glad they did. It was great to have them over.

Friday, was mostly clean up day for me, so of course, Eddie got to spend more time with Dad. We stayed home all day.

Saturday, we stayed indoors most of the day, except for when we went outside to take pictures of Eddie.

We invited the inlaws to dinner to thank them for all they do. My car has not been running and although it is not my father in law's job to take care of my car, he always does. I wanted to show appreciation for that. Also, wanted to thank my mother in law, for doing so much to make sure Eddie is well taken care of.

Eddie got to spend more time with Grandma that night. He really loves her.

When we got back from dinner, Eddie did something new. He started walking back and forth, without holding on, in his play pen, right before grandma's eyes. (I got a video of him doing that tonight.)

Sunday, we stayed home most of the day, except for when we went for a walk. I took lots of pictures of dad and Eddie. Here are a few from our walk to the park.

I am sad that our weekend is over, but I am glad that we got to spend time together.

I love my family. I truly mean that.

Eddie is 10 months

Today is thanksgiving and Eddie is 10 months old. He has been doing so many new things that I can't even keep up, logging them, sometimes.

Today, one of the electronic toys he plays with said: "circle" and Eddie made a two syllable sound to mimic it-"mmm-mmm."

Eddie loves his music more than ever. He listens to the same CD that grandma gave him a while back. It plays over and over in our house. But it makes him very happy. He sings a long with it. He makes "lahhh laaahhhh laahhh" sounds along with the songs. When we drive away somewhere, he starts singing before the music is on to tell us to turn it on.

One of Eddie's favorite activities is to walk around the house. He prefers no assistance, but we help him out as much as possible. If he could walk outside all day, I think he would. He is extra happy being outside and just exploring every thing.

He also likes to use random objects as drums. He slaps or taps the surface to make loud sounds. The smile he gets on his face is priceless.

Recently, Eddie started to kiss things. Meaning, he will look at a toy and if it has a face, he leans in and puts his lips on it. Of course, he does this to people too, but it's extra cute and funny when he does it to a toy. I know, I didn't teach him that. He also likes to make kissing sounds and "blow kisses" at you.

Eddie continues to find fascination in his own hands. He preoccupies himself by clapping. And sometimes, he may even yell out "ayyyyyy!"-meaning YAY! He also likes to play a game where he uses his finger to tap his hand and then alternates to clapping. His facial expressions turn intense as he concentrates on this activity.

I can tell you a little bit about my prediction on Eddie's adult personality:

I believe he is going to be daring, brave, demanding, quiet and observant, independent, impatient and loving :D

Overall, Eddie is the reason we wake up smiling, even when we don't sleep well.

Something that makes me sad about Eddie

Eddie is growing up. This is not what makes me sad. What makes me sad is that he doesn't really know what he wants and he gets frustrated.

What I mean is, he wants me to hold him, but he starts to cry, out of frustration because he wants to walk around the house. So, I put him down and walk with him. After walking for about 2-3 minutes, he cries because wants me to carry him. Then, when I carry him, he cries because he wants to nurse. So, I nurse him for about 5-10 minutes, and then he cries because wants down on the floor to walk again. This can go on ALL DAY! It has before.

Here is the part that makes me sad:

When I put him in his walker, he cries, gets mad and wants out. But I force him to stay in there because I have come to realize, he is the most content in there, once he settles in.

While in his walker, he walks around the house. He eats a snack, like an apple or a baby cracker. He claps his hands, sings, or talks to us from a distance. This is where he is the most happy for a longer period of time.

What makes me even more sad, is watching him from a distance, so small and so alone; singing and playing all by himself. I feel like I should be holding him or even standing next to him singing with him or playing with him. But I don't. Why? Because, I know holding him or even JUST getting close to him to play with him, will take us back to that routine in the 2nd paragraph of this blog.

But I miss his little baby body in my arms. I want to hold him and snuggle him and just have him quietly sleep in my arms.

Tonight, I held him as he fell asleep for the night. His head was all sweaty from playing around, right before bed. His eyes were closed over his chubby cheeks and his pouty little mouth. He looked so peaceful and calm. He is such a little boy now. Even his cries are no longer like an infant's. He literally screams at me when he wants something. He loves to "run" around. He is such a toddler wanna be, it's not even funny.

Anyway, I just wanted to blog about this transition we are going through. Wonder if you parents went through anything like this before?

Eddie's pitter patters

I love watching him walk back and forth. This video was taken a few days ago, but I hadn't made time to post it. I got food poisoning last night. It was really bad. But I am recovering today.

Visiting a friend

Today, I went to visit an old friend. She lives around the corner from my in laws' house. It was nice to chat with her. She is pro nursing beyond 6 months, so we had a nice chat about that topic :)

She made some really DELICOUS sandwiches for us. After lunch, we sat down on the floor and let Eddie walk back and forth between us. It was really fun and sweet to see Eddie having so much fun.

By the way, I love this picture that I snapped of him as he "ran" toward me.

We went to the park today

As I was driving to pick up Eddie from grandma's, I saw a cute grandma and baby walking down the street. The closer I got, I noticed it WAS Eddie's grandma and Eddie. Awwww :)

I was inspired to take Eddie out today. This was the first time, I actually let Eddie off of his stroller to play in the park. He was walking around on his own. He is getting much better at walking, but is not careful at all. He walks all over the place and in no particular direction. Every thing calls his attention.

At one point, he wanted to walk off of the trail and onto the wood mulch. He found it so interesting.

Eddie tries to squat to pick things up, but he doesn't quite have that move down yet. So, I let him sit down in the mulch.

I snapped some shots to send to dad.

I am thankful I get to come home early to spend time with our son.

Our cold mornings

Eddie is used to the morning routine. I get him out of the warm bed, while he is still in PJ's and still asleep, put a beanie on his head and wrap him up in a blanket and carry him to the cold car. Eddie is pretty good about this routine. He doesn't cry. I am glad.



It has been very cold lately (about 44 degrees in the morning.) I hadn't noticed how cold it is, until it's time to take Eddie outside.
He is ok with this cold morning routine though.

We're getting ready for bed

Just got home from dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's. We're getting ready for bed, but FIRST, a little bit of fun! What else are beds for?

The only way I could get work done today

Since Eddie is still sick, he doesn't want me to put him down. He just wants me to carry him, but I need to clean up! The house mess is piling up.

Also, I need to make dinner. G will be home soon.

This is the only way I am able to do anything. Eddie is super happy right now!

Brushing his teeth

Eddie is ok with getting his teeth brushed now. The below video is the proof-Fresh out of the bath.

By the way, he is getting better every day. Still congested in his chest and coughing, but better in the sense that he has not had a fever and his nose is drying up.

My pants have grass stains

I went to see Eddie during my lunch break. I love being able to drive to see him. I miss him terribly when I am at work and actually (don't laugh) find myself crying some days when I look at his pictures.

Today, after eating my lunch, I was able to take him outside to play.

Eddie loves playing with grass. He kept taking pieces of the grass and throwing it up in the air.


Any sound he heard, he would turn to see where it came from.



He also grunted at me to let him get up and walk around. He is still not quite ready to be left alone, while walking. He is definitely not careful. But here he is after he PUSHED my hand out of the way for him to walk on his own.




I loved playing with him outside :)

Eddie in his crib

Eddie has been sick this weekend. Yes, again.

Seems like he is sick every other month now :(

I truly hope he recovers soon. He can't breathe well, therefore cannot nurse well. He wakes up every 15 -30 minutes at night trying to nurse, but the frustration of not being able to breathe, makes him angry. Then, he yells and cries in the middle of the night-every 15 to 30 minutes!

During the day he is a little better.

Hanging out or under

We moved our dining room table to the living room because we're having a get together tomorrow. I am setting it up for food etc.

Well, as I was setting it up, Eddie started walking toward me in his walker. He kept walking until he was completely under the table.

While he was under there, he was extra quiet. I brought a light to make it bright in there and to check on him. I went under and snapped some pictures of him while I was down with him. After I crawled out, he started to laugh really hard at me. He just thought it was the funniest thing seeing me crawl out :)

He's never been under the table, since it's usually blocked off by chairs. He liked it.

My morning breakfast

I eat him up when he looks like this in the morning.

This is Eddie waking up from being carried to the car this morning. He was still asleep as I was heading out to work and I did not change him into his clothes yet.

As soon as I put him in his car seat, he opened his eyes and took a BIG stretch. Then, he looked around quietly as his eyes slowly took in the morning light.

He started biting his lip because his top (right side) tooth is out and his left tooth is starting to come out too.

He's my morning breakfast :) Yum!
